While that lands
Open the .dmg and drag Trace to Applications
The disk image is signed and notarised, so macOS opens it without an argument. Eject it afterwards — the copy in Applications is the one that updates itself.
Enter your invite code on first launch
The download is open; the app isn't. Trace asks for the code once, ties it to this Mac, and never asks again. If yours is refused, reply to the mail it came in and we'll issue another.
Press ⌘⇧L
Trace lives in the menu bar and opens on that shortcut from anywhere. Everything else is a slash command — type / in the bar and it lists them.
Beta builds update themselves — once this one is installed you won’t be sent another link. Nothing you do in Trace leaves your Mac: it keeps everything in one local SQLite file, with no account to make and nothing to sync.
